SCENIC 3-DAY HUE TO HOI AN MOTORBIKE JOURNEY VIA HO CHI MINH TRAIL

SCENIC 3-DAY HUE TO HOI AN MOTORBIKE JOURNEY VIA HO CHI MINH TRAIL

TOUR DESCRIPTION

The Easy Rider - motorbike tour from Hue to Hoian via Prao offers a more adventurous and scenic route through the mountainous and forested landscapes of central Vietnam. This route takes you through quiet villages, lush jungles, and the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail rather than the usual coastal highway.

DAY 1: HUE  → KHE SANH: 220 KM

Leaving the old Hue capital for Khe Sanh, we will take a most beautiful coastline along the Tam Giang lagoon - it stands as a well-known network of lagoons, notably claiming the title of Southeast Asia's largest brackish water lagoon, covering about 52 square kilometers. Positioned approximately 30 kilometers away from Hue's city center, this charming Vietnamese lagoon is increasingly favored by visitors for its pristine, peaceful, and romantic ambiance. Keep going on the beautiful way we will ride to the Hien Luong Bridge- a 17th parallel, it was bisected by the border between South Vietnam and North Vietnam during the Vietnam War from 1954 to 1975, It is not just history only but also it is a nice scenery area which you can take photos while walking on the bridge with our guide and we will tell you more about the history of this area.

The day with a beautiful coastline, mountain road, and full of historical places that we hope you will enjoy your time with us. After the Hien Luong bridge, we will ride a bit more on the coast and visit the Vinh Moc Tunnel a historically significant site located near the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in Quang Tri Province. This tunnel was built by the North Vietnamese to shelter villagers from intense bombing by American forces during the Vietnam War. The complex system of tunnels, dug by hand, served as an underground village with living quarters, a clinic, kitchens, and even a school, allowing people to survive underground for years. We will have an hour to visit the tunnel and back to the motorbike again for the mountain way. Finish the cost line from the Vinh Moc tunnel, we will turn to the west of the Truong Son range where you will feel more nature windy from the green jungle. We stop for lunch in the small village, take a rest, and continue our journey to the Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery which is the largest war cemetery in Vietnam, located in Quang Tri Province. It serves as a resting place and memorial for the thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers who died along the Truong Son Road (also known as the Ho Chi Minh Trail) during the Vietnam War. This cemetery is a significant site for both historical and emotional reflection, commemorating the sacrifices made during the war.

Before coming to our hotel for a long day ride, we will visit the last historical area which is called the Rock Pile which was critical during the Vietnam War as a strategic observation post. It was inaccessible by foot, so the U.S. military relied on helicopters to deliver troops, supplies, and equipment to the top. From here, U.S. Marines and Army personnel used radio and artillery to monitor and attack NVA supply lines and troop movements along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Going to our hotel in Khe Sanh around 5 pm.

Take a rest by walking on the beautiful white sand then go back to the bike and continue to Dream Stream where you can relax and swim. Dream Stream known as “ Suoi Mo” is a hidden gem located near Lang Co Beach, this serene spot is nestled in the mountains just a few kilometers from the main coastal area of Lang Co Beach. Known for its lush green surroundings, crystal-clear waters, and cascading waterfalls, Suoi Mo provides a peaceful escape for those seeking nature, tranquility, and adventure. Have lunch at the local restaurant and ride up to the Hai Van Pass where you will be surrounded by clouds with stunning ocean views. The Hai Van Pass which means “Sea of Cloudy Pass”, is where you will be surrounded by clouds with stunning ocean views, we can admire the beautiful panorama, and enjoy a number of the most glorious landscapes in Vietnam. There is an old French bunker at the top of the Hai Van Pass, which we also climb to the top to visit, this bunker was built during the French colonial period in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these bunkers served as a strategic military post. Positioned at the top of Hai Van Pass, they allowed the French to monitor movement along this critical route between North and South Vietnam. During the Vietnam War, both the French and American forces utilized the bunkers as observation posts due to the vantage point provided by the Hai Van Pass. In this pass where you can admire the beautiful panorama, and enjoy the most glorious landscapes in Vietnam, here we can enjoy our time resting and taking some walks on the mountain.
