Ride through the heart of the Central Highlands, discovering spectacular mountain landscapes, waterfalls, coffee plantations, and authentic ethnic minority villages rarely visited by tourists. Along the way, explore Lak Lake by traditional dugout canoe, visit remote communities of the M'nong, Bahnar, Ta Oi, Paco, and Van Kieu people, and gain fascinating insights into their unique cultures and traditions.

This journey also follows some of the most historic sections of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, including important Vietnam War sites such as Charlie Hill, Phoenix Airport, Khe Sanh Combat Base, and Ta Con Airbase. Combined with breathtaking mountain passes, jungle roads, and stunning coastal scenery, this tour offers the perfect blend of adventure, history, culture, and nature.

The adventure concludes with an unforgettable ride across the famous Hai Van Pass before arriving in the ancient UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An.

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: DALAT →  LAK LAKE:  160 KM

Ride through the Central Highlands, visit coffee plantations, traditional workshops, Linh An Pagoda, and end the day at peaceful Lak Lake.

Your Easy Rider adventure begins at 8:30 AM as we leave Da Lat and ride through the beautiful countryside of the Central Highlands. The morning takes us through flower-growing villages where local farmers cultivate roses, lilies, gerberas, and many other flowers that are distributed throughout Vietnam every day.

Continuing along winding mountain roads, we descend through one of the most scenic passes in the region before arriving at a coffee plantation. Here, you'll learn how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed in Vietnam. Discover the differences between Robusta, Arabica, Moka, and the famous Weasel Coffee while enjoying a freshly brewed cup overlooking the surrounding hills.

The journey continues with a visit to a local family producing traditional rice wine. Learn about the production process and, if you wish, sample a small glass of the local "happy water". We then visit a traditional silk factory where you'll see the fascinating journey from silkworm cocoon to finished silk products.

After lunch, we stop at Elephant Waterfall and nearby Linh An Pagoda, home to a giant Happy Buddha and one of the tallest Lady Buddha statues in southern Vietnam. 

In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic ride through rice fields, fishing villages, and countryside roads before visiting a floating fishing village. Arrive at Lak Lake around 5:00 PM and relax beside one of Vietnam's largest natural freshwater lakes.

DAY 2: LAK LAKE → BUON MA THUOT: 120 KM 

Explore Lak Lake by traditional dugout canoe, visit an authentic M’nong village, the spectacular Dray Sap Waterfall, and ride through the scenic coffee-growing landscapes of the Central Highlands.

Wake up early for one of the highlights of the tour – a traditional dugout canoe trip across Lak Lake. As the morning mist drifts across the water, local fishermen begin their day while water buffalo graze peacefully along the lakeshore.

After breakfast, take a walk through a traditional M'nong village. The M'nong people have lived in this region for generations and continue to preserve many of their traditional customs, architecture, and way of life. This is a great opportunity to learn about one of Vietnam's most fascinating ethnic minority cultures.

Leaving Lak Lake behind, we ride through rural roads and agricultural landscapes toward the spectacular Dray Sap Waterfall. Surrounded by jungle and national park scenery, this is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Central Highlands. There is time to relax, swim, and explore the surrounding area.

During the afternoon, we continue through rice fields and villages, stopping at local cocoa plantations, incense workshops, and seasonal mushroom farms before arriving in Buon Ma Thuot, known as Vietnam's coffee capital.

DAY 3: BMT CITY → CHUSE: 160 KM

Coffee Capital, Pepper Farms & Ho Chi Minh Trail

After breakfast, we visit the Dak Lak Museum, one of the most interesting cultural museums in the Central Highlands. The museum offers insight into the history, culture, and traditions of the Ede, Jarai, and M'nong people, as well as the region's role during the Vietnam War.

Leaving Buon Ma Thuot, we ride through coffee plantations, rice fields, and quiet countryside roads before visiting a pepper plantation. Here you'll learn how one of Vietnam's most valuable export crops is cultivated and processed.

The ride continues through vast rubber plantations and beautiful rural landscapes as we join sections of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the trail's significance during the Vietnam War and its importance in modern Vietnamese history.

After lunch, we visit Phu Cuong Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Gia Lai Province. Surrounded by volcanic rock formations and lush greenery, it provides an excellent place to relax before continuing to Chu Se.

DAY 4: CHUSE → KONTUM: 110 KM

Sea Lake, Tea Plantations & Kontum Culture

This morning, we continue along the scenic roads of the Central Highlands to visit Sea Lake, often known as the "Eyes of Pleiku". Formed within an ancient volcanic crater, the lake is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Gia Lai Province.

Nearby, we visit one of the oldest tea plantations in the region, originally established during the French colonial period. Walk through the rolling tea fields and enjoy panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. We also stop at a historic Buddhist temple known for its impressive reclining Buddha statue before continuing to Kontum.

After lunch, explore Kontum, a peaceful town located along the Dak Bla River and home to several ethnic minority communities. Visit to Kontum's famous Wooden Church. Built in 1913, this unique landmark combines European church architecture with traditional Central Highlands influences, making it one of the most distinctive religious buildings in Vietnam. Heading to Kon K'tu Village, here you'll see traditional Rong Houses and gain a deeper understanding of Bahnar culture and local village life.

DAY 5: KONTUM → KHAM DUC: 180 KM 

Legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, waterfall & mountain scenery

Leaving Kontum behind, we continue north along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. The road winds through mountains, forests, and remote villages, offering some of the most enjoyable riding of the entire journey. Our first major stop is Ngoc Hoi, an area that played an important role during the Vietnam War. Here we visit local war memorials and learn more about the history of the region before continuing deeper into the Truong Son ranges.

One of the highlights of the day is Charlie Hill, one of the most significant battlefields of the Vietnam War. Your guide will explain the strategic importance of this area and the events that took place here during the conflict. Nearby, we also visit the former Phoenix Airport, another important military site connected to wartime operations in the Central Highlands.

Continuing along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, we reach the famous Indochina region where Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia meet. This area offers spectacular mountain scenery and provides a fascinating insight into the geography and history of the region. After lunch, the ride continues through beautiful mountain landscapes and dense forests. We stop at a natural stream hidden among the hills, where there is time to relax, swim, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading towards Kham Duc.

Arrive in Kham Duc in the late afternoon after one of the most scenic riding days of the tour.

DAY 6: KHAM DUC → A LUOI: 220 KM

Ho Chi Minh Trail, Ethnic Villages & War History

Today is one of the most rewarding riding days of the entire journey as we continue north along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. Surrounded by dense forests, mountain ranges, and winding rivers, this section of the route offers some of the most remote and scenic landscapes in Central Vietnam.

Our first stop is a historic fuel pipeline system that once supplied military vehicles and logistics along the Truong Son Trail during the Vietnam War. Your guide will explain how this remarkable network helped support operations throughout the Central Highlands and southern battlefields.

Continuing through the mountains, we visit several ethnic minority communities, including the Ta Oi, Paco, and Van Kieu people. These remote villages remain largely untouched by tourism and offer a fascinating insight into traditional lifestyles, customs, and cultures that have been preserved for generations. Riding through these quiet valleys and mountain settlements provides a unique glimpse into a side of Vietnam rarely seen by most travelers.

Throughout the day, your guide will share stories about the strategic importance of this region during the Vietnam War. The surrounding mountains witnessed major military operations that played a significant role in maintaining the Ho Chi Minh Trail as a vital supply route connecting North and South Vietnam.

Along the way, we stop at several beautiful streams and waterfalls hidden among the forests, providing opportunities to relax, take photographs, and enjoy a refreshing swim before continuing our journey.

After a full day of riding through history, culture, and spectacular mountain scenery, we arrive in A Luoi in the late afternoon.

DAY 7: A LUOI → HUE: 250 KM

Khe Sanh Battlefield, Ta Con Airbase & Hue Heritage

Today's route follows one of the most historic sections of the former military road network connecting Central Vietnam with Laos. This remote mountain road offers outstanding scenery, quiet riding, and fascinating wartime history.

As we travel through the rugged landscapes of Quang Tri Province, we reach Khe Sanh, one of the most famous battlefields of the Vietnam War. Here we visit the former Ta Con Airbase, a key military installation used by American forces during the Battle of Khe Sanh in 1968. Explore the preserved bunkers, trenches, aircraft, tanks, artillery pieces, and military exhibits while learning about one of the longest and most significant battles of the conflict. Your guide will provide historical context and stories that help bring this important chapter of Vietnam's history to life.

Continuing eastward, we stop at Rockpile Hill, another strategic military observation point during the war. The surrounding mountains and valleys reveal why this region was so important to both sides during the conflict. Leaving the battlefields behind, the scenery gradually changes as we descend from the mountains towards the coastal plains of Central Vietnam. Arriving in Hue in the late afternoon, you'll immediately notice the city's unique atmosphere, shaped by centuries of imperial history and cultural heritage.

DAY 8: HUE → HOI AN: 140 KM

Tam Giang Lagoon, Hai Van Pass & Coastal Vietnam

The final day of the tour combines beautiful countryside, coastal scenery, and one of the most famous mountain passes in Southeast Asia.

Leaving Hue after breakfast, we ride through peaceful villages and rice paddies before arriving at Tam Giang Lagoon, the largest lagoon system in Vietnam. Here we visit a traditional fishing village and gain an insight into the daily lives of local families who depend on the lagoon for their livelihood. We then continue to Dream Waterfall, a popular local escape surrounded by lush forest. There is time to relax, swim, and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings before lunch.

In the afternoon, we begin one of the highlights of the entire journey — riding across the spectacular Hai Van Pass. Known as the "Ocean Cloud Pass," this legendary coastal road offers breathtaking panoramic views of the South China Sea, dramatic mountain scenery, and countless photo opportunities. Frequently described as one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, it is the perfect finale to an unforgettable motorcycle adventure.

Descending towards Da Nang, we visit Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula, home to the impressive 67-meter Lady Buddha statue overlooking the city and coastline. We also stop at My Khe Beach, one of Vietnam's most famous beaches, before continuing south to Hoi An.

Arriving in Hoi An during the late afternoon, we complete our incredible 8-day journey through Vietnam's Central Highlands, Ho Chi Minh Trail, battlefields, ethnic villages, mountain passes, and coastal landscapes.

• The tour price does not include a support vehicle, but we can arrange these services for an additional cost if needed.
• The tour cost can be changed depending on the low/high tourist season or other special requests. Please contact us to get the right price for your tour.
• Please note that the Dak Lak Museum is closed every Monday.
• While direct access to Elephant Waterfall is temporarily restricted, visitors can still admire its impressive beauty from the viewing area at Linh An Pagoda.
• If you would like meals to be included, an additional charge of USD 20 per person per day will apply.
• This is a private tour. We do not combine different bookings into large groups.

MOTORBIKE INFORMATION

• Easy Rider passengers will ride on Honda Winner 150cc, Honda XR150, or other reliable, larger-displacement motorcycles that are well-suited to these mountain passes and winding roads, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
• No scooters are used on this tour.
• Self-riding motorcycles are available for an additional rental fee.
• For self-riding guests, we recommend bringing your own riding gear, including a jacket, pants, gloves, and appropriate shoes or boots, as the sizes of our protective equipment may not be suitable for everyone.
• Guests wishing to self-ride should hold a valid International Driving Permit (IDP – 1968 Convention) together with the appropriate motorcycle licence from their home country. Some licenses may not be valid in Vietnam. Please contact us for guidance on how to ride legally in Vietnam if your license is not valid. 
• Citizens from all Southeast Asian countries can legally ride a motorbike in Vietnam using their valid domestic motorcycle license. There is no need to convert it to an International Driving Permit (IDP), according to the ASEAN agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses among Southeast Asian countries.

LUGGAGE

• The backpack can be carried securely on the motorcycle or arranged separately upon request.

• For convenience, we recommend traveling with a backpack instead of a suitcase, as it is easier to secure on the motorcycle. If needed, we can arrange to transport your suitcase separately to the tour's endpoint; however, an additional transportation fee will apply.
