Leave the vibrant streets of Ho Chi Minh City behind and begin your unforgettable Mekong Delta motorbike adventure. Today's journey combines Vietnam's rich wartime history with the unique culture and landscapes of the Mekong Delta.

Departing at 8:30 AM, we ride through the outskirts of the city toward the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast underground network played a crucial role during the Vietnam War and offers fascinating insight into the resilience, ingenuity, and determination of the Vietnamese people. Explore sections of the tunnels and learn how soldiers lived and operated beneath the ground.

Continuing south toward the Mekong Delta, we arrive at the impressive Vinh Trang Pagoda, one of the region's most beautiful Buddhist temples. Built in the late 19th century, the pagoda features a unique blend of Vietnamese, Khmer, Chinese, and European architectural styles, making it one of the most important cultural landmarks in southern Vietnam.

Next, we visit Dong Tam Snake Farm, Vietnam's largest snake conservation and research center. Here, you'll discover various native snake species, learn about their ecological importance, and gain insight into traditional medicinal applications and venom research.

After lunch, we board a traditional boat for a scenic cruise along the mighty Tien River. As we glide through the waterways of the Mekong Delta, you'll enjoy views of the famous Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix Islets while witnessing daily life along the riverbanks.

Arriving at Thoi Son Island, we explore lush tropical orchards, visit local family homes, sample fresh seasonal fruits, and enjoy a live performance of traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music. You'll also have the opportunity to taste locally produced honey tea and learn about the agricultural traditions that have shaped life in the Delta for generations.

Crossing the river into Ben Tre Province, known as Vietnam's "Coconut Kingdom," we visit a traditional coconut candy workshop. Watch local artisans transform fresh coconuts into delicious sweets and discover why coconut products are central to the local economy and culture.

In the late afternoon, we continue riding through peaceful countryside roads lined with coconut palms, canals, and small villages before arriving in Ben Tre. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in the heart of the Mekong Delta.

Authentic Mekong Villages & Countryside Riding

After breakfast, we leave Ben Tre and venture deeper into the authentic heart of the Mekong Delta. Today's ride showcases traditional village life, local craftsmanship, and some of the region's most picturesque countryside roads.

Our first stop is a traditional Grass Mat Weaving Village, where skilled artisans continue a centuries-old craft that remains an important part of daily life throughout the Mekong Delta. Watch the weaving process firsthand and learn how these colorful mats are produced using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Continuing through the peaceful countryside of Mo Cay District, we visit a local Coconut Processing Workshop. Ben Tre is famous as Vietnam's "Coconut Kingdom," and here you'll see how coconuts are transformed into a wide range of products, including coconut candy, oil, handicrafts, and household goods. Enjoy tastings and gain insight into one of the region's most important industries.

We then ride along narrow backroads surrounded by coconut groves, rice paddies, fruit orchards, and winding canals that reveal the authentic beauty of rural Mekong life. These quiet roads provide some of the most enjoyable riding of the entire tour.

Upon reaching Dinh Khao, we board a local ferry to cross one of the Mekong's many branches. The ferry journey offers excellent opportunities to observe daily river life, traditional fishing boats, and the bustling activities that make the Mekong Delta one of Southeast Asia's most productive agricultural regions.

After crossing the river, we stop at a Bonsai Garden, where local growers create remarkable miniature trees and ornamental plants. Learn about the artistry and patience involved in this unique Vietnamese gardening tradition.

In the afternoon, we continue riding toward Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, enjoy a stroll along the scenic riverside promenade, where you'll witness local life unfold along the Hau River and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Delta's economic and cultural center.

DAY 3: CAN THO → DONG THAP: 110 KM

Sunrise Cai Rang Floating Market & Xeo Quyt Eco Forest Adventure

Today begins before sunrise as we set out to experience one of the most iconic attractions in the Mekong Delta — the famous Cai Rang Floating Market.

At 5:00 AM, we board a local boat and cruise along the waterways as the Delta comes alive with activity. Cai Rang is the largest floating market in the region, where traders and farmers gather on boats loaded with fruits, vegetables, and local produce. One of the market's unique traditions is the use of tall bamboo poles displaying samples of goods for sale, allowing buyers to identify products from a distance.

As we drift through the bustling market, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic breakfast on the water. Small vendor boats serve traditional Vietnamese dishes such as pho, sticky rice, noodle soup, and freshly brewed Vietnamese coffee, creating a memorable and truly local dining experience.

After exploring the floating market, we continue by boat to visit a traditional rice noodle and rice paper workshop. Here, you'll discover how some of Vietnam's most essential foods are produced using techniques passed down through generations. These family-run businesses offer valuable insight into everyday life and local industries in the Mekong Delta.

Next, we visit a tropical fruit garden where local farmers cultivate a variety of seasonal fruits. Enjoy fresh fruit tasting, stroll through the orchards, and learn about the agricultural traditions that make the Delta one of Vietnam's most fertile regions.

Returning to the hotel, we check out and continue our motorbike journey toward Dong Thap Province. The ride takes us through peaceful rural landscapes filled with rice fields, lotus ponds, canals, and traditional villages that showcase the authentic beauty of the Mekong countryside.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the remarkable Xeo Quyt Eco Park, one of Dong Thap's hidden gems. This former wartime revolutionary base is now a protected ecological area featuring dense melaleuca forests, tranquil waterways, and abundant birdlife.

Relax on a small rowing boat as local guides navigate narrow canals shaded by towering cajuput trees. After the boat ride, enjoy a short walk through the forest trails and climb the observation tower for panoramic views over the vast wetlands and surrounding countryside.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Cao Lanh and check into our hotel. The remainder of the evening is free to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this charming Mekong Delta town.
