TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: HOI AN TO PRAO: 120 KM

Marble Mountain, Hai Van Pass & Ho Chi Minh Trail

Your Central Highlands motorbike adventure begins in Hoi An as we leave the coast behind and head toward the mountains of Central Vietnam. This first day combines spectacular coastal scenery, rich history, and the beginning of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Departing at 8:30 AM, we ride north along the coastline to visit Marble Mountain, a fascinating cluster of limestone and marble hills filled with ancient caves, Buddhist pagodas, and panoramic viewpoints. From the summit of Water Mountain, enjoy breathtaking views over Da Nang City, My Khe Beach, and the surrounding coastline.

Continuing our journey, we tackle the legendary Hai Van Pass, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Southeast Asia. Known as the "Pass of Ocean Clouds," this winding mountain road offers dramatic views of the sea, lush mountains, and hidden bays. At the summit, we stop to explore the historic French and American military bunkers, which once served as strategic observation points during both the colonial era and the Vietnam War.

Leaving the coast behind, we turn inland and begin riding along sections of the famous Ho Chi Minh Trail, one of Vietnam’s most scenic motorcycle routes. The landscape gradually transforms into rolling mountains, dense forests, and peaceful countryside.

Along the way, we visit a tea plantation where you can learn about tea cultivation in the highlands and enjoy beautiful views across the surrounding hills. We also stop at a traditional ethnic minority village to gain insight into the culture and daily life of the local communities that have called these mountains home for generations.

Arriving in Prao in the late afternoon, we check into our hotel and relax after a day filled with stunning scenery, history, and unforgettable riding.

Accommodation: Hotel in Prao

DAY 2: PRAO→ KHE SANH: 200 KM

Ho Chi Minh Trail, Ethnic Villages & Khe Sanh Combat Base

Today is one of the most spectacular riding days of the journey, following remote sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail through the heart of the Truong Son Mountains. Expect winding mountain roads, dense jungle, ethnic minority cultures, and fascinating Vietnam War history.

Leaving Prao in the morning, we ride deeper into the Central Highlands, passing through traditional ethnic minority villages where local communities continue to preserve their unique customs and way of life. Along the route, we visit Co Tu and Pa Co villages, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural diversity of Vietnam’s mountainous regions.

Continuing along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, the road winds through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Central Vietnam. Surrounded by pristine rainforest, towering mountains, and dramatic valleys, this section is a paradise for motorcycle enthusiasts. We stop at several scenic viewpoints to admire the spectacular landscapes and capture unforgettable photographs.

One of the highlights of the day is crossing the historic Dakrong Bridge, an iconic landmark on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Here, you'll learn about the strategic importance of this route during the Vietnam War while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and jungle.

In the afternoon, we arrive in Khe Sanh, a region forever linked to one of the most significant battles of the Vietnam War. We visit the historic Khe Sanh Combat Base (Ta Con Airfield), where abandoned aircraft, helicopters, military equipment, and exhibits provide fascinating insight into the events that shaped this area’s history.

After exploring the former battlefield, we continue into Khe Sanh town for the evening. Khe Sanh offers a peaceful atmosphere and a chance to relax after an unforgettable day on the road.

Accommodation: Hotel in Khe Sanh

DAY 3: KHE SANH → PHONG NHA: 190 KM

Ho Chi Minh Trail, Vinh Moc Tunnel & Phong Nha National Park

The final day of our adventure follows one of the most scenic sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, taking us through remote mountain landscapes, historic wartime sites, and the spectacular limestone karsts of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

Leaving Khe Sanh after breakfast, we ride north along the western branch of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, a route renowned for its winding roads, dense jungle, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Surrounded by the rugged peaks of the Truong Son Range, we make several stops to admire panoramic views of valleys, rivers, and dramatic limestone formations that define this beautiful region of Central Vietnam.

One of the day's most significant visits is the Vinh Moc Tunnels, an extraordinary underground village built during the Vietnam War. Constructed entirely by hand, this remarkable tunnel network sheltered local families from intense bombing and included living quarters, kitchens, a medical station, and even a school. Exploring the tunnels offers a fascinating insight into the resilience and determination of the Vietnamese people during wartime.

After lunch at a local restaurant along the trail, we continue our ride through remote countryside and ethnic minority villages inhabited by communities such as the Bru and Van Kieu people. Along the way, you'll see traditional stilt houses, peaceful farmland, and some of the most untouched landscapes in Central Vietnam.

As we approach Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, the scenery becomes even more spectacular. Towering limestone mountains, lush forests, and hidden valleys create one of Vietnam’s most impressive natural landscapes. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Phong Nha is home to some of the world's most remarkable cave systems and natural wonders.

Arriving in Phong Nha in the late afternoon, we conclude our unforgettable 3-day motorbike journey through Central Vietnam, filled with stunning scenery, rich culture, and fascinating history.
