DAY 1: DALAT →  LAK LAKE: 160 KM 

Flower Villages, Coffee Plantations & a Scenic Easy Rider Motorbike Journey to Lak Lake

Be ready at your hotel at 8:30 AM as your Easy Rider motorbike tour from Da Lat begins with a beautiful ride through the cool highland countryside. This is the start of a memorable Da Lat motorbike adventure, where every kilometer reveals a new landscape of mountains, farms, and rural life.

The first stop is a vibrant flower village, where local farmers cultivate roses, lilies, daisies, and gerberas. In the early morning, the fields are full of activity as the freshest flowers are carefully selected and prepared for export to local markets and Ho Chi Minh City. Continue your motorbike journey through Central Highlands Vietnam as you ride a stunning mountain pass toward Me Linh town, where you will visit a peaceful coffee plantation. Before tasting a cup of freshly brewed coffee, your guide will explain how coffee is grown in Vietnam and introduce different varieties such as Robusta, Moka, Arabica, and the famous Weasel coffee.

After enjoying the coffee experience, continue to a local family home where you can taste traditional homemade rice wine, known as “happy water”, and learn about the traditional production process from your guide. Next, visit a silk worm factory, where you will discover how silk is produced from cocoons through traditional methods, an important part of Vietnam’s cultural heritage.

The journey continues to the impressive Elephant Waterfall, one of the most powerful waterfalls in the region. Nearby, you will also visit a Buddhist temple complex featuring a large Happy Buddha statue and the tallest Lady Buddha statue in southern Vietnam (71 meters), offering both cultural insight and peaceful scenery. Enjoy lunch along the mountain road before continuing your motorbike adventure through remote highland landscapes.

DAY 2: LAK LAKE → BUON MA THUOT (BMT CITY): 120 KM

Begin your day early at 6:00 AM with a peaceful dug-out canoe experience on Lak Lake, one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in Vietnam. This serene moment offers a unique highlight of your Easy Rider motorbike tour in Vietnam, surrounded by misty waters, rolling hills, and the untouched beauty of the Central Highlands.

Glide across the calm surface in a traditional wooden canoe handcrafted by local M’nong people. As you drift, you may see fishermen at work, water buffalo moving through the shallows, and birds flying across the lake, creating a truly authentic glimpse into daily life in this remote region.

After the canoe trip, take a walk through the lakeside village before leaving Lak Lake. Here, you will explore traditional M’nong houses built from bamboo and wood on stilts, designed to adapt to the natural environment. Your guide will share insights into their long-standing customs, farming lifestyle, and cultural traditions. If timing allows, you may also witness traditional music and gong performances during local festivals.

After that,  the journey continues toward Buon Ma Thuot with stops at a mushroom farm (seasonal), an incense-making workshop, and a cocoa plantation, offering deeper insight into local agricultural life in the Central Highlands.

DAY 3: BMT CITY → CHUSE: 160 KM

Coffee Capital Heritage, Plantation Roads & a Scenic Easy Rider Motorbike Journey through the Highlands

Before leaving Buon Ma Thuot, the heart of Vietnam’s coffee culture, your Easy Rider motorbike tour continues with a visit to the Dak Lak Cultural and Historical Museum. Designed with architecture inspired by traditional longhouses, the museum offers a fascinating introduction to the region’s cultural identity, history, and natural heritage.

Inside, your guide will walk you through two key sections: ethnology and history. The ethnology exhibits highlight the traditions of ethnic groups such as the Ede, Ja Rai, and M’nong, showcasing costumes, musical instruments, and daily tools. The history section provides insight into the region’s past, including colonial resistance and the Vietnam War, helping you better understand the Central Highlands you are riding through.

Continue your motorbike journey through the Central Highlands of Vietnam along peaceful rural roads surrounded by rice fields and small villages. Stop at a pepper plantation, where you can taste freshly harvested pepper and learn about one of Vietnam’s key agricultural products. You will also visit a rubber plantation, the largest plantation type in the region, where your guide explains the harvesting process and the daily work of local farmers.

Take a relaxing break on a roadside hammock with a coffee before continuing along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road, enjoying open landscapes and quiet countryside views. After lunch at a local restaurant, take a short walk through a local market to experience daily life in the highlands. In the afternoon, continue riding to Phu Cuong Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region, surrounded by lush greenery and natural scenery.

DAY 4: CHUSE → KONTUM: 110 KM

Lakes, Tea Plantations & Ethnic Culture along the Ho Chi Minh Trail

Continue your journey north along scenic sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail as the landscape opens into peaceful highlands and rolling hills.

The first stop is Sea Lake (Biển Hồ) – “The Eyes of Pleiku”, a stunning volcanic lake known for its calm waters and refreshing atmosphere. This is a peaceful retreat where locals come to enjoy cool air and panoramic views over the surrounding highlands.

The ride continues to an ancient tea plantation, one of the oldest in the Central Highlands, dating back to the French colonial period. Walk through endless green rows of tea fields and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic agricultural site. Nearby, visit a unique Buddhist temple featuring a reclining Buddha statue, offering a quiet cultural and spiritual stop along the way.

After the visit, continue toward Kon Tum for lunch, passing through rural landscapes and small farming communities. Kon Tum is a quiet riverside town located along the Dak Bla River, known for its untouched nature and rich ethnic diversity, including Bahnar, Jrai, and Sedang communities. After check-in around 2:00 PM, take time to explore Kon K’tu ethnic village, where traditional wooden stilt houses and the iconic Rong house reflect the deep cultural heritage of the region. Walk along the riverside and experience authentic village life before returning to your hotel.

DAY 5: KONTUM → KHAM DUC: 180 KM

Historic Battlefields, Remote Villages & Jungle Roads along the Ho Chi Minh Trail

Before leaving the land of the Ba Na people, we begin another unforgettable Easy Rider motorbike journey along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road. Our first stop is the Wooden Church, built in 1913, a remarkable symbol of Catholic heritage in the Central Highlands and the influence of French missionaries. Constructed entirely from local wood, the church blends Romanesque and Gothic styles with intricate carvings that reflect both Christian and indigenous cultural identity. Today, it remains an important spiritual and cultural center for the local community, hosting religious events and festivals.

Continuing our motorbike tour, we ride deeper into the Central Highlands toward Ngoc Hoi town, once one of the most intense battlefields during the Vietnam War. Here, we visit the war monument displaying VC tanks used in historic battles against American and South Vietnamese forces. Along the Ho Chi Minh Road, we also stop at Charlie Hill and Phoenix Airport, key strategic locations during the Battle of Charlie Hill in 1967. These sites offer powerful insight into the military significance of the region and the lasting impact of the war on the landscape and local people.

Afterward, we enjoy lunch at the Indochina T-junction, where Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia meet. This remote border area is one of the most symbolic points of the journey. In the afternoon, the motorbike journey continues through the Truong Son mountain range, where winding roads, dense jungle, and untouched nature create a truly immersive riding experience. We stop at a local stream to relax, swim, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere deep in the forest.

We arrive in Phuoc Son town around 5:00 pm and check in at our hotel, ending another memorable day of our Vietnam Easy Rider adventure.

DAY 6: KHAM DUC → HOI AN: 130 KM

Waterfalls, Ethnic Villages & Scenic Descent from the Highlands to the Coast

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike journey continues along the stunning Phuoc Son Pass, where smooth winding roads follow rivers, waterfalls, and peaceful mountain villages. This is one of the most scenic sections of our Central Vietnam motorbike tour, offering a perfect mix of nature and local life.

We first visit Chu Ru village, the final ethnic village on this route, where you can experience traditional mountain culture before continuing deeper into the jungle to a hidden waterfall. Here, you can relax, swim, and enjoy the untouched natural surroundings.

Back on the road, our motorbike tour continues through breathtaking landscapes as we descend from the Central Highlands toward the coastal lowlands. We stop at a local pineapple farm to enjoy fresh pineapple and Vietnamese coffee, a simple but authentic countryside experience.

Finishing the Central Highlands riding section of our Easy Rider adventure, we continue toward Hoi An. Along the way, we visit the Cham Temple, an ancient Hindu structure built by the Champa Kingdom between the 2nd and 19th centuries. This sacred site reflects a unique blend of Indian and local architectural styles. We also stop at a Cao Dai temple and observe traditional incense making before arriving in Hoi An around 5:00 pm.

If you wish to explore more of Hoi An, we highly recommend staying an extra day. Popular activities include having custom-made clothing tailored, joining a traditional Vietnamese cooking class, experiencing a basket boat ride through the coconut forest, visiting the famous Ba Na Hills, or discovering the UNESCO-listed My Son Sanctuary.

DAY 7: HOI AN → HUE: 150 KM

Hai Van Pass, Marble Mountain & Coastal Motorbike Journey to the Imperial City

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike journey takes us along one of the most legendary coastal routes in Vietnam from Hoi An to Hue. This section of our Central Vietnam motorbike tour is widely considered one of the most beautiful rides in the country, combining ocean views, mountain passes, lagoons, and cultural heritage.

In the morning, we ride along the coastal road to Marble Mountain, where you can explore natural caves, ancient pagodas, and intricate stone sculptures carved from marble. This spiritual site offers both cultural depth and scenic beauty. We then continue our motorbike tour along My Khe Beach, one of Vietnam’s most famous coastlines. This area is not only known for its natural beauty but also its historical significance as a former military base during the French and American wars.

The highlight of the day is the Hai Van Pass, often called the “Sea of Clouds Pass.” Here, our Easy Rider adventure climbs into the mountains, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, cliffs, and mist-covered peaks—one of the most iconic riding experiences in Vietnam.

After lunch, we continue to Dream Waterfall, a peaceful spot where you can relax and swim surrounded by nature. The journey then follows Highway 1A to Tam Giang Lagoon, where we explore a traditional fishing village and walk along the lagoon to observe local daily life and fishing activities.

DAY 8: HUE TO KHE SANH: 230 KM

DMZ History, Hien Luong Bridge & Vinh Moc Tunnels along the Former 17th Parallel

Today is one of the longest and most rewarding riding days of the tour. Our Easy Rider adventure takes us from the imperial city of Hue into the heart of the former Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), one of the most historically significant regions in Vietnam. Along the way, you'll explore important Vietnam War sites, ride through remote countryside and mountain landscapes, and gain a deeper understanding of the country's history, culture, and resilience.

Leaving Hue in the morning, we ride along the peaceful Tam Giang Lagoon, a vast brackish water system stretching across the coastal lowlands. Known as one of Southeast Asia’s largest lagoon networks, this area offers a calm and scenic contrast to the heavy history of the day ahead.

Continuing our motorbike adventure, we arrive at the iconic Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, located on the 17th Parallel. Following the Geneva Accords of 1954, this river became the temporary boundary separating North and South Vietnam until the country's reunification in 1975. Today, the site stands as a powerful symbol of peace, resilience, and national reunification. As we walk across the bridge, it is hard to imagine that this quiet riverside setting once marked one of the most heavily guarded borders in Southeast Asia. Along the way, our guide will share fascinating stories and historical insights into the events that shaped modern Vietnam.

We then continue south along the coast to one of the most remarkable historical sites of the Vietnam War: the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Located near the DMZ in Quang Tri Province, this underground village was built by local villagers under intense bombing campaigns. Entire families lived underground for years, with living quarters, kitchens, storage areas, a clinic, and even a small school system—all carved by hand into the earth. Visiting this tunnel complex offers a powerful and emotional insight into civilian resilience during wartime.

After exploring the tunnels, our Easy Rider adventure turns inland toward the Truong Son mountain range. The landscape becomes more remote and wild, with winding roads surrounded by dense jungle and untouched nature. We stop for lunch in a quiet local village, taking time to rest before continuing deeper into the former war corridor.

In the afternoon, we visit the Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery, the largest war cemetery in Vietnam. This sacred site honors thousands of soldiers who lost their lives along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. It is a place of deep reflection, where history, sacrifice, and national memory are preserved with great respect.

Before reaching Khe Sanh, we stop at the Rock Pile, a strategically important observation point used by U.S. forces during the war. Due to its isolated and elevated position, it could only be accessed by helicopter and served as a key surveillance and artillery base overlooking the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

We arrive in Khe Sanh around 5:00 pm, completing a profound and meaningful day of our Vietnam motorbike journey through one of the most historic regions in the country.

DAY 9: KHE SANH TO PHONG NHA: 187 KM

Khe Sanh Combat Base, Ho Chi Minh Trail & Phong Nha's Untouched Wilderness

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike journey follows one of the most scenic and historically significant sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. Leaving Khe Sanh in the morning, we continue north through remote mountain landscapes, dense jungle, and areas deeply connected to Vietnam’s wartime history.

Our first stop is the Khe Sanh Combat Base (Ta Con Airfield), one of the most famous battlefields of the Vietnam War. Once a major U.S. Marine base, Khe Sanh witnessed one of the longest and most intense sieges of the conflict. Today, the site serves as an open-air museum displaying military aircraft, tanks, weapons, and photographs that provide valuable insight into the events that shaped this region.

Continuing along the Ho Chi Minh Road motorbike tour, we ride through vast stretches of old-growth rainforest, where winding roads cut through some of the most untouched landscapes in Central Vietnam. Along the route, we stop at a Van Kieu ethnic village, home to one of the indigenous communities that have lived in these mountains for generations. Here, you will gain a deeper understanding of their traditional way of life and connection to the surrounding forests.

After lunch in a small local village, the journey continues through spectacular mountain scenery. Several viewpoints along the route offer panoramic views of endless valleys, jungle-covered peaks, and the remote landscapes that once formed part of the supply network of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

In the afternoon, our Easy Rider adventure follows the peaceful Son River toward Phong Nha. The scenery gradually changes from rugged mountains to fertile farmland, rice paddies, and quiet rural communities. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the West Ho Chi Minh Trail and the importance of this region during the war, as well as the extraordinary natural heritage of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

We arrive in the charming town of Phong Nha around 5:00 pm, surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains and pristine countryside. This beautiful riverside town serves as the gateway to one of the most spectacular cave systems in the world and marks the beginning of the next chapter of our Vietnam motorbike journey.

DAY 10: EXPLORING PHONG NHA CAVES AND NATIONAL PARK

Dark Cave Adventure, Paradise Cave & Sunset over the Countryside

After many days on the road, today offers a different pace as we take a break from long-distance riding and immerse ourselves in the extraordinary natural wonders of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its vast cave systems, limestone mountains, and pristine rainforest.

The day begins with a visit to the famous Dark Cave, one of the most adventurous attractions in the park. Hidden beneath dense jungle and surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, this cave was once used as a shelter during the Vietnam War and remains largely untouched by artificial development. Unlike many show caves, Dark Cave retains its natural darkness, creating a truly authentic underground experience.

Equipped with headlamps, we explore the cave’s massive chambers and hidden passages while discovering the fascinating geology of this ancient limestone system. The adventure continues with a variety of activities along the Chay River, including kayaking, swimming, ziplining, and the famous natural mud bath inside the cave. Surrounded by emerald-green water and tropical forest, this area offers some of the most exciting outdoor experiences in Central Vietnam.

After lunch, we continue to Paradise Cave, widely regarded as one of the most spectacular caves in Southeast Asia. Stretching deep beneath the limestone mountains, the cave features enormous chambers filled with extraordinary stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years. Elevated walkways allow visitors to admire the breathtaking formations while learning about the geological history of the region.

Before reaching the cave entrance, you can choose to take an electric shuttle or enjoy a pleasant walk through the surrounding old-growth forest. The combination of rainforest scenery and underground wonders makes this one of the highlights of any Vietnam adventure.

In the late afternoon, we take a short ride through the peaceful countryside of Phong Nha National Park, passing rivers, rice fields, and dramatic karst mountains. As the day comes to an end, we stop at one of the area's most scenic viewpoints to enjoy the sunset over the rice paddies—a perfect opportunity for photographs and quiet reflection.

DAY 11: PHONG NHA TO TAN KY: 280 KM

The Legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, Ethnic Villages & Endless Mountain Roads

Today is one of the longest riding days of our Vietnam adventure, covering approximately 280 kilometers along some of the most peaceful and scenic sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail. While the distance is greater than previous days, the reward is a truly immersive Easy Rider motorbike journey through remote countryside, mountain landscapes, and authentic rural communities rarely visited by mainstream tourism.

Leaving Phong Nha early in the morning, we ride into the cool mountain air as the road winds through dense forests and rolling hills. This section of the Ho Chi Minh Road is known for its smooth pavement, light traffic, and spectacular scenery, making it one of the most enjoyable riding days of the entire tour. As our motorbike tour continues north, we pass through remote hill tribe regions where traditional lifestyles remain largely unchanged. Along the way, we stop at a Thai ethnic village to explore the local culture, architecture, and daily life of one of Vietnam’s many ethnic minority communities. Walking through the village provides a unique opportunity to experience authentic rural life and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural diversity found throughout the country.

Throughout the day, the route offers a constantly changing landscape of forests, valleys, farmland, and quiet mountain villages. There are plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese coffee, and simply appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of this less-traveled region. The ride itself becomes the highlight of the day as we follow long stretches of beautiful mountain roads that once formed part of the historic supply network connecting North and South Vietnam during the war. Today, these roads offer some of the most rewarding riding experiences in the country, combining history, nature, and adventure.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Tan Ky, a town closely connected to the history of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and an important milestone on our journey toward Northern Vietnam.

DAY 12: TAN KY TO MAI CHAU: 260 KM 

Ho Chi Minh Trail KM 0, Ma River Valley & the Beauty of Rural Northern Vietnam

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike journey takes us deeper into Northern Vietnam as we leave Tan Ky and follow a scenic route toward the beautiful valley of Mai Chau. Although another long riding day, the journey is filled with spectacular landscapes, historical landmarks, and authentic countryside experiences.

Departing early in the morning, we ride through peaceful rural regions where daily life unfolds among rice fields, small villages, and forested hills. One of the highlights of the day is the beautiful road running alongside the Ma River, where bamboo groves line the riverbanks and create some of the most picturesque scenery of the trip. The combination of winding roads, lush greenery, and tranquil countryside makes this a memorable section of our Vietnam motorbike tour.

After a relaxing ride through the valley landscapes, we stop for lunch in Cam Thuy before continuing northward. Along the way, we visit one of the most historically significant sites connected to the Vietnam War—Ho Chi Minh Trail KM 0.

This famous milestone marks the starting point of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, the vast logistical network that transported troops, food, medicine, and supplies from North Vietnam to the southern battlefields during the war. Standing at this historic location provides a deeper understanding of the scale and importance of one of the most remarkable military supply routes in modern history.

In the afternoon, our motorbike journey continues through rolling mountains and peaceful countryside as we approach Mai Chau, one of Northern Vietnam’s most beautiful valleys. Surrounded by limestone mountains and home to traditional Thai ethnic communities, Mai Chau offers a completely different atmosphere from the Central Highlands and coastal regions visited earlier in the tour.

We arrive in Mai Chau in the late afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this charming valley before continuing toward the more dramatic mountain landscapes of Northern Vietnam.

DAY 13: MAI CHAU TO TA XUA: 170 KM

Cloud Hunting & Mountain Roads to Ta Xua

As the sun rises over the peaceful valley of Mai Chau, our Vietnam Easy Rider adventure continues toward Ta Xua, one of Northern Vietnam’s most spectacular mountain destinations. Today’s motorbike journey gradually leaves behind lush rice paddies and traditional stilt-house villages, climbing higher into the rugged mountains where dramatic landscapes unfold around every corner.

The road to Ta Xua is a dream ride for motorcycle enthusiasts, winding through remote valleys, ethnic minority villages, and terraced hillsides that change character with every season. Along the way, we pass through Moc Chau, a region famous for its vast tea plantations, dairy farms, and cool mountain climate. The rolling green hills and mist-covered landscapes create some of the most beautiful scenery on this entire South to North Vietnam motorbike tour.

As we continue deeper into the mountains, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Narrow mountain roads follow ridgelines and valleys, offering breathtaking viewpoints and endless photo opportunities. This section of the route is often considered one of the highlights of any Northern Vietnam motorbike adventure.

By late afternoon, arrive in Ta Xua, one of Vietnam’s most famous destinations for cloud hunting. Often referred to as the “Cloud Paradise of Northern Vietnam,” Ta Xua offers breathtaking views of cloud seas stretching across the mountains. Weather permitting, visit iconic landmarks such as the Dinosaur Backbone Ridge and the Lonely Tree, where spectacular sunset views create unforgettable memories.

On favorable days, a sea of clouds drifts through the valleys below, creating the magical "Ocean of Clouds" phenomenon that has made Ta Xua famous among photographers and nature lovers. Watching the clouds roll between the mountain peaks is an unforgettable experience and one of the most rewarding moments of this Easy Rider motorbike tour.

After enjoying the fresh mountain air and stunning scenery, we return to our accommodation to relax and prepare for another incredible day in Northern Vietnam.

Rice Terraces, Mountain Passes & Hidden Valleys of Northern Vietnam

After breakfast in Ta Xua, our Easy Rider motorbike tour continues through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Northern Vietnam. Today's route is widely regarded as one of the highlights of this Vietnam motorcycle adventure, combining spectacular mountain scenery, winding roads, and world-famous rice terraces.

Leaving the cloud-covered peaks of Ta Xua behind, we ride through a series of beautiful mountain passes and remote valleys before reaching Tu Le, a picturesque town renowned for its stunning terraced rice fields. During harvest season, the hillsides transform into endless waves of golden rice, creating one of the most photographed landscapes in Vietnam.

Continuing along this unforgettable motorbike journey, we enter Mu Cang Chai, home to some of the country's most impressive rice terraces. Carefully carved into the mountains by generations of H'Mong farmers, these terraces create a remarkable landscape that has become one of Northern Vietnam’s most iconic natural and cultural treasures. The sweeping views of layered rice fields stretching across the mountainsides provide endless opportunities for photography and sightseeing.

After exploring the famous terraces of Mu Cang Chai, we continue toward Ngoc Chien, a peaceful village hidden in a remote valley surrounded by mountains and forests. Far from the busy tourist routes, Ngoc Chien offers an authentic glimpse into rural life in Northern Vietnam. The village is home to Thai and H'Mong ethnic communities who continue to preserve their traditional customs, architecture, and way of life. One of Ngoc Chien’s greatest attractions is its natural hot springs, where visitors can relax and unwind after a rewarding day on the road.

DAY 15: MU CANG CHAI TO SAPA: 160 KM

Mountain Roads, Ethnic Villages & the Spectacular Landscapes of Sapa

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike journey takes us deeper into the majestic mountains of Northern Vietnam as we travel from Mu Cang Chai to Sapa. This section of the tour combines dramatic mountain scenery, winding roads, and authentic cultural encounters, making it one of the most memorable riding days of the entire Vietnam motorbike adventure.

Leaving the famous rice terraces behind, we continue through a landscape of towering mountains, deep valleys, and remote villages. The route offers a mixture of smooth mountain highways and smaller countryside roads, providing an exciting and scenic ride through one of Vietnam’s most beautiful regions.

Along the way, we pass through traditional ethnic minority communities where life has changed little over generations. These villages provide a fascinating insight into local customs, farming practices, and daily life in the northern highlands.

As we approach Sapa, the scenery becomes even more dramatic. Surrounded by some of Vietnam’s highest mountain peaks, Sapa is famous for its cool climate, spectacular valleys, and rich ethnic diversity. The town sits high in the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range and has long been considered one of the country's most iconic destinations.

During the afternoon, we ride along scenic mountain roads to visit villages inhabited by the Black H'Mong and Red Dao people. These communities are well known for their colorful traditional clothing, intricate embroidery, handmade textiles, and unique cultural traditions that have been preserved for centuries.

DAY 16: SAPA TO HA GIANG: 220 KM

Mountain Passes, Border Landscapes & the Gateway to the Ha Giang Loop

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike tour takes us from the famous mountain town of Sapa to Ha Giang, the starting point of Vietnam’s legendary Ha Giang Loop. This is a spectacular riding day filled with mountain scenery, ethnic minority villages, and some of the most rewarding roads in Northern Vietnam.

After breakfast, we begin our motorbike journey through the high mountains surrounding Sapa. Our first stop is near the Vietnam–China border in Lao Cai, where we can enjoy views of the frontier region and learn more about the unique geography and history of this important border area.

Leaving Lao Cai behind, we continue along beautiful mountain roads that gradually descend from elevations of around 1,500 meters above sea level toward the valleys and plateaus of Ha Giang Province. Throughout the day, riders are treated to breathtaking panoramas of terraced rice fields, forested mountains, winding valleys, and traditional villages scattered across the landscape.

One of the highlights of today's ride is the route through Pho Rang. After following a smooth section of road, we turn onto smaller countryside roads where the scenery becomes even more authentic and remote. This less-traveled region offers a completely different perspective of Northern Vietnam, with peaceful farming communities, rolling hills, and vibrant ethnic minority villages rarely visited by mainstream tourists.

We stop in Pho Rang for lunch before continuing our Vietnam motorcycle adventure along winding mountain roads toward Ha Giang. As the landscapes gradually change once again, you'll begin to understand why this region is considered one of the world's premier motorbike destinations.

Arriving in Ha Giang during the afternoon, we check into our hotel and prepare for the next stage of the journey through the famous Ha Giang Loop, home to some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in Southeast Asia.

DAY 17: HA GIANG TO DONG VAN: 150 KM

The Legendary Ha Giang Loop, Heaven's Gate & Dong Van Karst Plateau

Today is one of the most anticipated days of our Vietnam Easy Rider adventure as we begin exploring the world-famous Ha Giang Loop. This spectacular motorbike journey takes us through dramatic limestone mountains, winding mountain passes, and remote ethnic minority villages that have made Ha Giang one of the best motorcycle destinations in Southeast Asia.

Leaving Ha Giang City in the morning, we climb the breathtaking Bac Sum Pass, a series of winding mountain curves that offer stunning panoramic views over the valleys below. As the road ascends higher into the mountains, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, providing some of the most memorable riding of the entire tour.

Our next stop is the famous Heaven's Gate Pass in Quan Ba, one of the most iconic viewpoints in Northern Vietnam. From here, you can admire sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and valleys before continuing toward Tam Son, a peaceful town nestled among forested limestone peaks.

Along the route, we visit local H'Mong villages where you'll gain a deeper understanding of the rich cultural traditions and daily life of the ethnic communities that call these mountains home. This cultural connection is one of the highlights of the Ha Giang motorbike tour and offers a fascinating glimpse into a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for generations.

After lunch in Yen Minh, we continue through the heart of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, a UNESCO-recognized landscape famous for its towering limestone formations, deep valleys, and extraordinary geological heritage.

Throughout the afternoon, we stop at several of Ha Giang’s most famous landmarks, including the Twin Mountains of Quan Ba, the scenic Can Ty Pass, and Tham Ma Pass, a historic mountain road once used by local traders transporting goods through the highlands.

Before reaching Dong Van, we visit the Vuong Family Palace in Sa Phin, often referred to as the H'Mong King's Palace. Built in the early 20th century, this remarkable residence combines Chinese, French, and H'Mong architectural influences and provides fascinating insight into the history of the region.

The final section of today's ride takes us across the magnificent Dong Van Karst Plateau, where towering rock formations and dramatic mountain scenery create one of the most unforgettable landscapes in Vietnam. Arriving in Dong Van during the late afternoon, we check into our hotel and enjoy the atmosphere of this historic frontier town.

DAY 18: DONG VAN TO BAO LAC: 140 KM

Ma Pi Leng Pass, Nho Que River & Spectacular Limestone Mountains

Today is another unforgettable highlight of our Vietnam Easy Rider motorbike tour as we ride through some of the most dramatic landscapes of the legendary Ha Giang Loop. This section of the journey is famous for its towering limestone peaks, deep valleys, and one of the most breathtaking mountain passes in Southeast Asia.

Leaving Dong Van after breakfast, we begin the day by conquering the magnificent Ma Pi Leng Pass, widely regarded as the most spectacular pass in Northern Vietnam. Carved into the mountainside along the edge of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, this legendary road offers extraordinary views of towering cliffs, rugged mountain ranges, and the emerald waters of the Nho Que River far below.

We stop at several scenic viewpoints along the pass, allowing plenty of time to admire the incredible panorama and capture some of the most iconic photographs of the entire South to North Vietnam motorbike adventure. Standing atop Ma Pi Leng pass, surrounded by endless mountains and dramatic landscapes, is a moment many travelers consider the highlight of their journey through Vietnam.

Continuing toward Meo Vac, the road winds through a remarkable landscape of limestone formations, deep canyons, and remote ethnic minority communities. The scenery constantly changes as we ride through one of the most geologically unique regions in the country.

After lunch in Meo Vac, we leave the heart of the Ha Giang Loop and continue toward Bao Lac. The afternoon ride follows quieter mountain roads and stretches alongside the peaceful Gam River, offering a completely different atmosphere from the dramatic cliffs of the morning. Surrounded by lush green mountains, traditional villages, and beautiful river valleys, this section provides a relaxing and scenic end to another incredible riding day.

Arriving in Bao Lac during the late afternoon, we check into our accommodation and enjoy the peaceful charm of this remote mountain town.

DAY 19:  BAO LAC TO BAN GIOC WATERFALL: 200 KM

Remote Mountain Roads, Ethnic Cultures & Limestone Wonders

Today's Easy Rider motorbike journey takes us through one of the most remote and scenic regions of Northeast Vietnam. Leaving Bao Lac after breakfast, we ride along winding mountain roads surrounded by dramatic limestone peaks, deep valleys, and untouched countryside. This section of the tour offers some of the most authentic riding experiences in Vietnam, far away from the tourist crowds.

Along the route, we stop to visit villages of the Black Lo Lo people, one of Vietnam’s smallest ethnic minority groups. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about their unique traditions, culture, and distinctive traditional clothing. The women still wear handmade black garments decorated with colorful fabric panels, preserving customs that have been passed down through generations.

Continuing our Vietnam motorbike adventure, we ride through peaceful mountain landscapes lined with ancient trees and breathtaking viewpoints before reaching Cao Bang Province. The journey showcases the raw beauty of northern Vietnam, with endless opportunities to enjoy the scenery and capture memorable photographs along the way.

In the afternoon, we arrive at a traditional Tay ethnic village near Ban Gioc waterfall and check in to our homestay. After a short rest, we continue by motorbike to visit the spectacular Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most impressive limestone caves in Northern Vietnam. Stretching for more than 2 kilometers, the cave is filled with remarkable stalactites and stalagmites shaped by nature over millions of years. Walking through its vast chambers offers a fascinating glimpse into the geological history of the region.

After exploring the cave, we return to our homestay to relax and enjoy a traditional local dinner. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and the hospitality of the Tay people, this is the perfect ending to another unforgettable day of our Easy Rider motorcycle tour through Northern Vietnam.

DAY 20: BAN GIOC WATERFALL TO BA BE LAKE: 206 KM

Ban Gioc Waterfall, Tay Villages & the Natural Beauty of Ba Be Lake

Today’s Easy Rider motorbike journey combines some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in Northeast Vietnam. Leaving our homestay early in the morning, we begin the ride with a visit to the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in Southeast Asia. Located on the border between Vietnam and China, Ban Gioc is a true natural wonder where crystal-clear waters cascade over multiple limestone terraces, creating an unforgettable setting surrounded by lush mountains and rice fields.

For those who enjoy a short hike, we continue to Truc Lam Phat Tich Pagoda, the first Buddhist temple built along Vietnam’s northern border. Perched on a hillside overlooking the waterfall, the pagoda offers panoramic views of Ban Gioc Waterfall, the surrounding karst mountains, and the peaceful valley below.

Continuing our Vietnam motorbike adventure, we ride through a region of dramatic limestone landscapes, winding mountain roads, and traditional farming communities. Along the way, we stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking rice paddies and valleys before visiting Phuc Sen Village, a traditional Nung ethnic village famous for its centuries-old blacksmithing tradition. Here, local craftsmen still forge handmade knives, farming tools, and household items using techniques passed down through generations.

After lunch, we continue our ride through some of the most picturesque countryside in Northern Vietnam. The route offers a perfect mix of mountain scenery, ethnic culture, and quiet rural roads, making this one of the most rewarding riding days of the tour.

By late afternoon, we arrive at Ba Be Lake and check into a traditional Tay ethnic homestay. If time permits, we will enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the lake before sunset. Otherwise, the boat excursion will be arranged for the following morning.

Located within Ba Be National Park, Ba Be Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam and one of the country's most important ecological treasures. Formed over 200 million years ago, the lake is surrounded by towering limestone mountains, dense tropical forests, and rich biodiversity. Fed by the Nang, Ta Han, and Nam Cung rivers, Ba Be offers a peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking scenery, making it a perfect destination to experience the natural beauty of Northern Vietnam.

DAY 21: BA BE LAKE TO HA NOI: 240 KM

From the Northern Highlands to Vietnam’s Historic Capital

Today marks the final day of our 21-day Easy Rider motorbike adventure across Vietnam. After breakfast at our Tay ethnic homestay, we leave the peaceful surroundings of Ba Be Lake and begin our journey south toward Hanoi, completing an unforgettable ride from the Central Highlands to the far north of the country.

The route takes us through the scenic landscapes of Northeast Vietnam and into the fertile Red River Delta. Along the way, we pass through areas inhabited by various ethnic minority groups, including the H’Mong, Dao, Tay, and Nung people. As the mountains gradually give way to rolling hills and agricultural plains, you will have one last opportunity to enjoy the diverse scenery that has made this Vietnam motorbike tour so special.

Today's ride combines quiet countryside roads, mountain passes, and busy highways, offering a final taste of Vietnam’s ever-changing landscapes. We will make several stops along the way to relax, enjoy local coffee, and take in the views before continuing toward the capital.

As we approach Hanoi, the pace of life begins to change. The peaceful rural roads are replaced by the vibrant energy of Vietnam’s largest cultural and political center. Arriving in Hanoi in the late afternoon, around 4:00 pm, we conclude our remarkable motorbike journey after 21 days of adventure, discovery, history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.

From the coffee plantations of the Central Highlands and the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail to the limestone mountains of Ha Giang, Ban Gioc Waterfall, and Ba Be Lake, this journey offers an extraordinary cross-country experience that few travelers ever have the opportunity to experience.

MOTORBIKE INFORMATION

• Easy Rider passengers will ride on Honda Winner 150cc, Honda XR150, or other reliable, larger-displacement motorcycles that are well-suited to these mountain passes and winding roads, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
• No scooters are used on this tour.
• Self-riding motorcycles are available for an additional rental fee.
• For self-riding guests, we recommend bringing your own riding gear, including a jacket, pants, gloves, and appropriate shoes or boots, as the sizes of our protective equipment may not be suitable for everyone.
• Guests wishing to self-ride should hold a valid International Driving Permit (IDP – 1968 Convention) together with the appropriate motorcycle licence from their home country. Some licenses may not be valid in Vietnam. Please contact us for guidance on how to ride legally in Vietnam if your license is not valid. 
• Citizens from all Southeast Asian countries can legally ride a motorbike in Vietnam using their valid domestic motorcycle license. There is no need to convert it to an International Driving Permit (IDP), according to the ASEAN agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses among Southeast Asian countries.

LUGGAGE

• The backpack can be carried securely on the motorcycle or arranged separately upon request.

• For convenience, we recommend traveling with a backpack instead of a suitcase, as it is easier to secure on the motorcycle. If needed, we can arrange to transport your suitcase separately to the tour's endpoint; however, an additional transportation fee will apply.
