DAY 1: HA NOI TO BA BE LAKE: 220 KM

Today's journey follows winding mountain roads, passing through lush valleys, traditional farming communities, and some of the most scenic countryside in Northern Vietnam. Along the way, stop frequently to admire panoramic mountain vistas, cascading rice terraces, and peaceful rural villages.

One of the highlights of the day is a visit to Phuc Sen Village, a traditional Nung ethnic community famous for its centuries-old blacksmithing craft. Here, local artisans continue to hand-forge knives, farming tools, and household utensils using techniques passed down through generations.

Continuing toward the Chinese border, arrive at the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall, widely regarded as one of Vietnam’s most beautiful natural wonders. After breakfast, visit the remarkable Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most impressive natural attractions in Northern Vietnam. DAY 4: BAO LAC TO DONG VAN: 120 KM

Conquer legendary mountain passes, cruise through the spectacular Nho Que Canyon, and experience the unique cultures of Vietnam’s northern highlands.

Today promises some of the most spectacular riding of the entire journey. Leaving Bao Lac behind, you'll travel along winding mountain roads that cut through the heart of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark renowned for its dramatic limestone landscapes and rich ethnic cultures.

The route takes you across some of Vietnam’s most iconic mountain passes, including the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, often considered the most breathtaking road in the country. Perched high above deep valleys and towering cliffs, the pass offers unforgettable panoramic views of the rugged mountains stretching endlessly across the horizon. Along the way, you'll also pass through Heaven Gate and several remote hill tribe communities, providing opportunities to learn about the traditions and daily lives of the H'Mong and other ethnic minorities who have adapted to this harsh yet beautiful landscape for generations.

One of today's highlights is a boat trip on the emerald waters of the Nho Que River. Flowing through the dramatic Tu San Canyon, the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia, the river journey offers a completely different perspective of the towering limestone cliffs that define this remarkable region.

DAY 5: DONG VAN TO HA GIANG: 140 KM

Visit vibrant ethnic markets, discover the H'Mong King's Palace, and enjoy one last ride through the spectacular landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.

After breakfast, depart from Dong Van and begin your journey to Ha Giang City through the heart of the UNESCO-listed Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. If your visit falls on a Sunday, you may have the opportunity to experience one of the region’s colorful ethnic markets, where H'Mong, Dao, Tay, and other minority groups gather to trade livestock, local produce, traditional clothing, and handmade goods. More than just a marketplace, it is an important social event that has connected mountain communities for generations.

Continue riding through dramatic mountain scenery and stop at the historic Vuong Family Palace in Sa Phin Village. Once home to the influential H'Mong King, this fascinating landmark showcases a unique blend of Chinese, French, and H'Mong architecture while offering insight into the region’s rich history.

The adventure continues along some of Northern Vietnam’s most scenic roads, including the famous Tham Ma Pass, known for its winding curves and breathtaking views over limestone mountains and deep valleys. Along the way, stop at Quan Ba Heaven Gate for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the iconic Twin Mountains, one of Ha Giang’s most recognizable natural landmarks.

DAY 6: HA GIANG TO SAPA: 220 KM

Ride scenic mountain roads, explore remote ethnic villages, visit the Vietnam–China border, and enjoy one of Northern Vietnam’s most spectacular motorbike routes to Sapa.

After breakfast, continue your Northern Vietnam motorbike adventure as you leave Ha Giang and follow the beautiful mountain landscapes of the northeast. After approximately 40 kilometers, turn onto smaller backroads leading toward Pho Rang, where the scenery changes dramatically from the rocky karst mountains of Ha Giang to lush valleys, rolling green hills, rice fields, and traditional ethnic minority villages.

This section of the journey offers some of the most authentic riding experiences in Northern Vietnam. Traveling along quiet countryside roads, you'll pass remote communities and enjoy breathtaking views rarely seen by mainstream tourists. After lunch in Pho Rang, continue your motorcycle tour toward Lao Cai on a scenic winding route surrounded by mountains and fertile valleys.

Before reaching Sapa, stop at the Vietnam–China border in Lao Cai for a short visit and photo opportunity. From here, begin the final ascent to Sapa, one of the most famous mountain destinations in Vietnam. The road climbs steadily to an altitude of over 1,600 meters above sea level, offering incredible views of terraced rice fields, misty mountain peaks, and picturesque valleys.

This unforgettable mountain ride is considered one of the best motorbike routes in Northern Vietnam and a highlight of any Vietnam motorcycle tour. Arrive in Sapa in the late afternoon, where cool mountain air and stunning scenery provide the perfect ending to another spectacular day on the road.

DAY 7: SAPA TO MU CANG CHAI: 160 KM

Ride the legendary O Quy Ho Pass, explore spectacular rice terraces, and discover the rich cultures of the H'Mong and Thai ethnic communities.

Leaving Sapa for Mu Cang Chai for the breathtaking journey again through the heart of northern Vietnam’s mountain landscapes, terraced rice fields, and ethnic minority villages. This route offers some of the most scenic views in northern Vietnam, making it a favorite for motorbike-riding adventurers and nature lovers.

The climate is still cool, and with beautiful terraced rice paddies, the road soon ascends into the mountains. Shortly after leaving Sapa, we’ll encounter the O Quy Ho Pass, one of Vietnam’s most famous mountain passes. At over 2,000 meters above sea level, it offers spectacular views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range and plunging valleys.

Riding toward Mu Cang Chai, the route takes us through traditional villages with sweeping views of terraced fields. A village like Than Uyen is rich in local culture, and its fields create mesmerizing patterns that change with the season.

Arriving in Mu Cang Chai, you’ll find some of the most picturesque terraced rice fields in Vietnam. Recognized as a National Heritage Site, these terraces are particularly stunning during the rice-growing seasons of May to June, when fields are lush and green, and September to October is the harvest time when it turns golden. This area is ideal for photography and short hikes to capture the beauty of the landscape.

Throughout the journey, we’ll encounter people from the H'mong and Thai ethnic groups, known for their traditional clothing, distinct dialects, and unique farming methods. Visiting the local markets and interacting with the villagers offers a glimpse into their daily lives and cultural heritage. We arrive at Mu Cang Chai around 4 pm.

DAY 8: MU CANG CHAI TO TA XUA: 170 KM

Experience thrilling mountain roads, visit remote ethnic villages, and witness the famous Ta Xua Dinosaur Spine and sea of clouds.

The motorbike ride from Mu Cang Chai to Ta Xua today is a thrilling journey that takes you through Vietnam's rugged northern landscape, known for its towering mountains, breathtaking rice terraces, and the iconic "dinosaur spine" ridge at Ta Xua.

After exploring the homeland of rice terraces, continuing our motorbike journey to Ngoc Chien, a small village nestled in a remote valley, is the perfect way to relax after a long day of riding. The village is also home to the Thai and H’Mong ethnic groups and you’ll have the opportunity to learn about their traditional way of life. The ride today is one of the highlights of our trip, taking you through some of the most spectacular scenery the region has to offer. The road winds its way through the mountains, passing through the town of Tu Le, known for its terraced rice fields that cascade down the hillsides.

Having lunch in the small town and continuing our journey with the breathtaking views of valleys and distant mountain peaks. Be prepared for steep climbs and hairpin turns as the road snakes through the mountains. Each bend brings new perspectives of the region's natural beauty, with the landscape shifting from terraced fields to misty mountains.

Arriving in Ta Xua, you’ll find one of Vietnam's most famous off-the-beaten-path attractions - the "dinosaur spine" ridge. This narrow ridge offers sweeping views of valleys on either side, with mist often shrouding the landscape, creating a dreamlike sea of clouds below. The ridge is especially popular for sunrise or sunset when the light paints the mist and mountains in spectacular colors.

DAY 9: TA XUA TO MAI CHAU: 170 KM

Enjoy scenic mountain passes, tea plantations, and breathtaking valleys before arriving in the peaceful countryside of Mai Chau.

Our motorbike journey today covers approximately 170 kilometers. This scenic route winds through mountain passes, peaceful valleys, and tea plantations. It offers us a unique look into Vietnam’s stunning landscapes and cultural diversity. We'll encounter again winding mountain passes with panoramic views, perfect for quick stops to capture the landscapes and soak in the scenery. Riding through these roads can be challenging yet rewarding, with endless views of lush forests and far-off peaks.

We will arrive in Mai Chau Valley in the late afternoon. Mai Chau is known for its peaceful valley, lush green rice fields, and traditional Thai stilt houses. This charming town is a popular retreat for travelers looking to experience rural Vietnamese life. You can unwind in the valley and explore local markets. The beauty of Mai Chau’s landscape, combined with the hospitality of the local people, makes it a perfect end to your ride. Continue riding along the way, we’ll pass through Moc Chau, a region famous for its tea plantations and dairy farms in the north of Vietnam. This area is often shrouded in mist, adding an ethereal quality to the ride. Keep riding toward Mai Chau at 5 pm.

DAY 10: MAI CHAU TO TAN KY: 260 KM 

Follow the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, ride through traditional ethnic villages, and discover the cultural and wartime heritage of rural Vietnam.

The journey from Mai Chau to Tan Ky is a unique motorbike adventure that combines Vietnam's natural beauty, cultural richness, and historical depth. The mix of scenic landscapes and the historical significance of the Ho Chi Minh Trail make this ride an unforgettable experience for any motorbike enthusiast.

Begin our journey in the tranquil Mai Chau Valley, known for its green rice paddies and charming stilt houses of the Thai ethnic people. It’s worth taking a last look at the valley from the surrounding hills before you hit the road and hit the Ho Chi Minh Trail. As we ride south from Mai Chau, we start to join the sections of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, a legendary network of paths used during the Vietnam War.

Today, this route is mostly paved and offers smooth riding while still retaining some of its historical significance. Along the way, you’ll see rice paddies, buffaloes grazing, and villagers working in the fields, giving you a glimpse into the quiet life of rural Vietnam. We will ride through villages inhabited by various ethnic groups, including the Muong and Thai people, and stop at local markets and explore small hamlets to experience the diversity and traditions of these communities. The friendly locals often welcome travelers with curiosity and warmth, making the experience more enriching. We will reach Tan Ky, a small town with historical significance as one of the northern starting points of the original Ho Chi Minh Trail. This town was crucial as a logistical base during the war, and remnants of this history are still present. Today, Tan Ky is a quiet town surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for a rest after a long ride. We stay overnight in Tan Ky.

DAY 11: TAN KY TO PHONG NHA: 280 KM

Ride one of Vietnam’s most scenic motorcycle routes along the Ho Chi Minh Road and arrive at the UNESCO-listed Phong Nha National Park.

Starting an unforgettable journey on the Ho Chi Minh Road, where you will have a deep understanding of the Vietnam War and the history of the trail, which is used for moving troops and supplies from the north to the south through our tour guides. Covering around 280 kilometers, this route takes us through dense jungles, quiet villages, and past dramatic limestone mountains, culminating in the stunning Phong Nha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The road from Tan Ky to Phong Nha follows sections of the Ho Chi Minh trail, which parallels parts of the historic trail. Known for its excellent road quality and smooth riding, unspoiled landscapes, and light traffic. On this road, you’ll experience the lush green forests and rolling hills that make this section of the trail especially beautiful. Take a cup of coffee at the top of the mountain and ride toward Phong Nha.

DAY 12: EXPLORING PHONG NHA CAVES AND NATIONAL PARK

Epic Caves, Jungle Adventures & Sunset Over the Rice Fields

Today is dedicated to discovering the natural wonders of Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park, one of Vietnam's most spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With minimal riding, you'll have plenty of time to explore breathtaking caves, lush rainforest, and the stunning landscapes that make this region world-famous.

The adventure begins at Dark Cave, one of the park's most exciting and interactive attractions. Hidden beneath dense jungle and surrounded by towering limestone mountains, Dark Cave offers a unique blend of adventure and nature. Equipped with a headlamp, you'll venture deep into the cave's vast chambers and tunnels, experiencing complete darkness much like the early explorers who first discovered this remarkable underground world.

Located along the beautiful Chay River, the area is also known for its outdoor activities. Enjoy kayaking on crystal-clear waters, fly across the river on a thrilling zipline, relax in the famous natural mud bath, and swim in the refreshing river surrounded by spectacular scenery.

After lunch, we continue to Paradise Cave, widely regarded as one of the most magnificent caves in Asia. Stretching deep beneath the limestone mountains, this incredible cave features enormous chambers, impressive stalactites, and breathtaking rock formations that have been shaped over millions of years. A scenic walk through the forest leads to the cave entrance, or you may choose to take an electric buggy for part of the journey.

In the late afternoon, we enjoy a relaxing ride through the peaceful countryside and lush landscapes of Phong Nha National Park. As the day comes to an end, we stop at one of the region's picturesque rice fields to watch the sunset, providing the perfect opportunity for photography and a memorable conclusion to an extraordinary day.

DAY 13: PHONG NHA TO KHE SANH: 187 KM

The Legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail & Remote Mountain Villages

Today's ride is one of the most scenic and rewarding sections of the tour, following the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail through remote mountains, dense jungle, ethnic minority communities, and some of Central Vietnam's most spectacular landscapes.

Leaving Phong Nha in the morning, we ride through breathtaking countryside surrounded by towering limestone mountains, lush forests, and peaceful rural villages. This section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail offers some of the best motorcycle roads in Vietnam, with winding curves, light traffic, and incredible scenery stretching in every direction.

Along the route, we pass through beautiful valleys, riverside farmland, and untouched jungle landscapes before visiting a traditional Van Kieu ethnic minority village. Here, you'll gain insight into the daily life, culture, and traditions of one of Vietnam's indigenous communities, many of whom continue to live in remote mountain regions largely unchanged by modern development.

As we continue deeper into the countryside, the road follows sections of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, the famous wartime supply route that once connected North and South Vietnam. Your guide will share stories about the trail's strategic importance and the remarkable history that shaped this region.

Throughout the day, there are plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs, enjoy panoramic mountain views, and appreciate the untouched beauty of Vietnam's central highlands. By late afternoon, we arrive in Khe Sanh, a town forever linked to one of the most significant chapters of the Vietnam War and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

DAY 14: KHE SANH TO HUE: 210KM

DMZ History, Vinh Moc Tunnels & Coastal Roads

Our final day combines spectacular riding with some of the most important historical sites from the Vietnam War. From the mountains of Khe Sanh to the peaceful lagoons and coastline near Hue, today's journey offers a fascinating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Leaving Khe Sanh in the morning, we travel through the former DMZ region and visit the famous Rockpile, a strategic U.S. military observation post during the Vietnam War. Rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape, this iconic landmark played a key role in monitoring troop movements and supply routes along the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Continuing eastward, we stop at the Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery, the largest military cemetery in Vietnam. This powerful memorial honors thousands of Vietnamese soldiers who lost their lives along the Ho Chi Minh Trail and serves as an important reminder of the country's wartime history.

The journey then takes us to the historic Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River at the 17th Parallel, the former dividing line between North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. Walking across the bridge offers both beautiful photo opportunities and a deeper understanding of one of the most significant chapters in Vietnamese history.

Next, we explore the remarkable Vinh Moc Tunnels, an underground village hand-dug by local residents to survive years of intense bombing during the war. Hidden beneath the earth are living quarters, kitchens, wells, medical stations, and classrooms, offering a powerful insight into the resilience of the local people.

In the afternoon, we leave the historic DMZ behind and follow the scenic coastal route past Cua Tung Beach before arriving at the tranquil Tam Giang Lagoon, the largest brackish-water lagoon system in Southeast Asia. Here, enjoy the peaceful scenery, traditional fishing communities, and beautiful views that provide a perfect contrast to the wartime history experienced earlier in the day.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Hue and check into our hotel. From the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail and historic battlefields to breathtaking coastal roads and authentic local culture, today’s journey offers a fascinating glimpse into the beauty and history of Central Vietnam.

DAY 15: HUE TO DA NANG: 140 KM

After breakfast, begin the final day of your Vietnam motorbike tour by following one of the most scenic coastal routes in Central Vietnam. Leaving Hue behind, ride south toward Lang Co Bay, where spectacular ocean views, fishing villages, and pristine beaches create a memorable start to the day.

Your first stop is Dream Stream (Suoi Mo), a hidden natural retreat nestled in the mountains near Lang Co. Surrounded by lush forest, crystal-clear pools, and small cascading waterfalls, it is the perfect place to relax, swim, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of nature.

After lunch at a local restaurant near the beach, continue riding toward the legendary Hai Van Pass, often regarded as one of the most beautiful coastal mountain roads in the world. As you ascend the winding road, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Lang Co Bay, the coastline, and the East Sea. At the summit, visit the historic French and American military bunkers that once guarded this strategic pass.

Descending into Da Nang, stop at Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula to admire the impressive 67-meter Lady Buddha statue and enjoy sweeping views of the city and coastline. TOUR INFORMATION

• Departure time: 8:30 AM from your hotel or requested location in Ha Noi City.
• The tour price does not include a support vehicle, but we can arrange these services for an additional cost if needed.
• The tour cost can be changed depending on the low/high tourist season or other special requests. Please contact us to get the right price for your tour.
• If you would like meals to be included, an additional charge of USD 20 per person per day will apply.
• This is a private tour. We do not combine different bookings into large groups.
• Flexible departure dates are available throughout the year.
• Customized itineraries can be arranged upon request.

ACCOMMODATION

• Private rooms are included at local hotels or homestays throughout the tour.
• Hotel upgrades are available upon request for an additional charge.
• For group bookings, guests requesting separate rooms may incur a room supplement fee.

MOTORBIKE INFORMATION

• Easy Rider passengers will ride on Honda Winner 150cc, Honda XR150, or other reliable, larger-displacement motorcycles that are well-suited to these mountain passes and winding roads, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
• No scooters are used on this tour.
• Self-riding motorcycles are available for an additional rental fee.
• For self-riding guests, we recommend bringing your own riding gear, including a jacket, pants, gloves, and appropriate shoes or boots, as the sizes of our protective equipment may not be suitable for everyone.
• Guests wishing to self-ride should hold a valid International Driving Permit (IDP – 1968 Convention) together with the appropriate motorcycle licence from their home country. Some licenses may not be valid in Vietnam. Please contact us for guidance on how to ride legally in Vietnam if your license is not valid. 
• Citizens from all Southeast Asian countries can legally ride a motorbike in Vietnam using their valid domestic motorcycle license. There is no need to convert it to an International Driving Permit (IDP), according to the ASEAN agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses among Southeast Asian countries.

LUGGAGE

• The backpack can be carried securely on the motorcycle or arranged separately upon request.

• For convenience, we recommend traveling with a backpack instead of a suitcase, as it is easier to secure on the motorcycle. If needed, we can arrange to transport your suitcase separately to the tour's endpoint; however, an additional transportation fee will apply.

WEATHER & ITINERARY

• Due to weather conditions, road conditions, seasonal factors, and local circumstances, the itinerary may be adjusted to ensure the best possible experience and safety.
• Any significant changes will be communicated before or during the tour.

INSURANCE

• Personal travel insurance and accident insurance are not included.
• Guests are strongly advised to arrange suitable travel insurance before joining the tour.
